Ingredients
Scale
Popcorn
- 2 Bags Light Butter Microwave Popcorn
Candy Mix
- 1 to 1½ Cups Colored Sixlets
White Chocolate Coating
- 1 (11.5 oz) Bag White Chocolate Chips
- ½ Bag Marshmallows
- 3 Tbsp Butter or Margarine
- ¾ Cup Corn Syrup
Instructions
- Pop the popcorn: Follow the instructions on the popcorn bag to microwave 2 bags of light butter popcorn. Once popped, transfer the popcorn to a large mixing bowl and set aside.
- Prepare the white chocolate mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine the corn syrup, butter, and white chocolate chips. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently until the mixture comes to a boil and the white chocolate chips are melted and smooth.
- Add marshmallows: Stir in half a bag of marshmallows into the melted white chocolate mixture. Continue stirring until the marshmallows fully melt and blend into the mixture, creating a sticky, glossy coating.
- Combine popcorn and coating: Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately pour the warm white chocolate and marshmallow mixture over the prepared popcorn. Gently mix everything together, ensuring the popcorn is evenly coated without crushing the kernels.
- Add Sixlets candies: Carefully fold in 1 to 1½ cups of colored Sixlets candies, stirring gently to avoid breaking the candy shells while distributing them evenly throughout the popcorn.
- Serve and garnish: Sprinkle additional Sixlets on top of the popcorn mixture for an attractive presentation. Allow the mixture to set slightly before serving to ensure the coating firms up a bit.
Notes
- Colored Sixlets can be found at WalMart and Joann’s baking aisle.
- Use light butter microwave popcorn to keep the flavor balanced and not overly greasy.
- Be gentle when mixing in the Sixlets to prevent cracking the candy shells.
- Allow the popcorn mixture to cool fully if you want it crispier and easier to handle.
