Description
Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars are a quick and easy no-bake treat combining the crunch of Cheerios with creamy peanut butter and sweet honey. Perfect for a snack or dessert, these bars come together in minutes and set in the fridge for a deliciously chewy texture.
Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 3 cups Cheerios
Wet Ingredients
- ½ cup peanut butter
- ½ cup honey
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the wet ingredients: In a glass bowl, combine the peanut butter, honey, and vanilla extract (if using). Microwave the mixture for 1 minute to soften and make it easier to mix.
- Mix thoroughly: Whisk the warmed mixture until smooth and well combined. Then add the Cheerios and stir to ensure each piece is fully coated with the peanut butter-honey blend.
- Press into pan: Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper. Transfer the mixture into the pan and use a spatula or your hands to firmly press it down into an even layer.
- Chill: Refrigerate the pressed mixture for 1 to 2 hours to allow it to set. This step is important for the bars to firm up and be easy to cut.
- Cut and serve: Once set, remove the bars from the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into 9 squares, or smaller shapes such as triangles to serve kids or for a dessert tray.
Notes
- Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
- Refrigerate bars to keep fresh for up to two weeks.
- For longer storage, freeze individually wrapped bars for up to three months.
