Description

This Meat Lovers Pizza Casserole is a hearty and satisfying dish that combines all the flavors of a classic pizza in a convenient casserole form. Loaded with ground beef, sausage, pepperoni, and melted cheese, it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 1 cup chopped pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tsp Italian seasoning, divided
  • 1 (26-oz) jar tomato basil pasta sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (13.8-oz) can refrigerated pizza crust dough
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prep: Preheat oven to 425º F. Lightly spray a 9×13-inch pan with cooking spray.
  2. Brown the meats: In a large skillet, cook ground beef and sausage over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain well and return to skillet.
  3. Make the sauce: Add pepperoni, flour, and 3 tsp Italian seasoning to the skillet, stirring until blended. Stir in pasta sauce. Bring mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Remove from heat and spoon mixture into prepared pan. Sprinkle with 1½ cups mozzarella cheese.
  4. Add the crust: Unroll pizza crust and place on top of mozzarella cheese. Brush crust with olive oil and sprinkle with the remaining teaspoon of Italian seasoning, ½ cup mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake: Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.

  • You can use different types of meat, such as Italian sausage, ground turkey, or ham.
  • Feel free to add your favorite pizza toppings, such as mushrooms, onions, or olives.
  • If you don’t have refrigerated pizza crust dough, you can use a homemade pizza dough recipe.
