Description

This Homemade Vanilla Iced Coffee recipe offers a refreshing and flavorful twist on your classic iced coffee. Featuring a smooth, homemade vanilla simple syrup infused with real vanilla bean or extract, combined with cold brew coffee, creamer, and oat milk, this drink is perfect for a delicious pick-me-up on warm days or any time you crave a creamy and sweet coffee treat without artificial flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Homemade Vanilla Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated cane sugar (100g)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 vanilla bean pod, split in half or 1 tbsp vanilla bean paste or 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract

Vanilla Iced Coffee

  • ½1 cup cold brew coffee, adjusted to taste
  • 12 tbsp vanilla simple syrup (homemade or store-bought)
  • 23 handfuls of ice cubes
  • 13 tbsp NutPods Unsweetened French Vanilla Coffee Creamer or cream of choice
  • 24 tbsp oat milk or milk of choice

Instructions

  1. Make the vanilla simple syrup: In a small pot, combine the granulated sugar, water, and split vanilla bean pod if using. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat, stirring continuously until the sugar dissolves. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. If using vanilla bean paste or extract instead of a bean pod, add it now and stir gently to combine. Allow the syrup to cool 5-10 minutes, then pour into a heat-proof airtight glass container. If using a bean pod, keep it in the container to continue infusing flavor. Let the syrup cool completely at room temperature before refrigerating to prevent sugar crystallization. The syrup stays fresh up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
  2. Prepare the iced coffee: In a serving glass, pour cold brew coffee and add vanilla simple syrup to taste. Add 2 to 3 handfuls of ice cubes, followed by your desired amount of NutPods Unsweetened French Vanilla Coffee Creamer and oat milk. Stir gently, taste, and adjust the sweetness or milk as preferred to create a balanced, creamy iced coffee.

Notes

  • For stronger vanilla flavor, allow the vanilla bean pod to infuse in the syrup for several days.
  • Adjust the amount of simple syrup to control sweetness according to your preference.
  • NutPods Unsweetened French Vanilla Coffee Creamer is recommended for added richness without extra sugar.
  • Oat milk is used here for a creamy texture, but any milk or milk alternative works.
  • Store the syrup refrigerated in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
  • Cold brew coffee is preferred for its smoothness and low acidity but you can substitute with chilled brewed coffee.
