Description

A refreshing and vibrant Cherry Limeade beverage combining tangy lime juice, sweet maraschino cherries, and fizzy lemon-lime soda, perfect for warm days or parties.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit and Ice

  • 12 medium limes, thinly sliced
  • 1 jar (10 ounces) maraschino cherries, drained, syrup reserved
  • Crushed ice (enough to fill a pitcher halfway)

Liquid Ingredients

  • 1 cup (810 limes) fresh lime juice, chilled
  • 1 bottle (2 liters) lemon-lime soda, chilled

Sweetener

  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar, superfine

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pitcher: Fill a large pitcher halfway with crushed ice and add the thinly sliced lime rounds evenly on top to infuse the drink with citrus aroma and flavor.
  2. Add Cherries: Add the drained maraschino cherries to the pitcher. Make sure to reserve the sweet cherry syrup for later use.
  3. Mix Lime Juice and Sugar: In a medium bowl, combine the freshly squeezed lime juice and superfine granulated sugar. Stir gently until the sugar begins to dissolve completely, creating a sweet and tart base.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Pour the lime juice and sugar mixture into the pitcher containing ice, lime slices, and cherries. Add the reserved maraschino cherry syrup to enhance sweetness and depth of flavor.
  5. Add Soda and Serve: Slowly pour the chilled lemon-lime soda into the pitcher. Gently stir to combine all the ingredients without losing the carbonation. Serve immediately in 8-ounce glasses, ensuring each glass has some cherries and lime slices for garnish.

Notes

  • For a less sweet option, reduce the sugar to ¼ cup and adjust according to taste.
  • Use superfine sugar to help it dissolve quickly in the lime juice mixture.
  • Crushed ice helps chill the drink faster and adds texture.
  • To make it a festive mocktail, add fresh mint leaves as garnish.
  • Cherry syrup can also be used to rim glasses for extra sweetness and color.
