Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasonings
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Dairy and Sauces
- 10.5 oz cheddar cheese condensed soup
- 8 oz sour cream
- ½ cup milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Other Ingredients
- ¾ cup cooked and chopped bacon
- 32 oz frozen tater tots (keep frozen)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Cook Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the uncooked ground beef. Stir frequently and cook until completely browned. Then, drain any excess grease to avoid a greasy casserole.
- Season Beef: Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the cooked beef. Stir to combine all flavors evenly.
- Add Creamy Ingredients and Bacon: Mix in cheddar cheese condensed soup, sour cream, cooked bacon, and milk into the skillet with the beef. Stir thoroughly so every bit of beef is coated with the creamy mixture.
- Transfer to Baking Pan: Pour the beef mixture into the prepared 9×13 baking pan and spread evenly to create an even base layer.
- Add Tater Tots and Cheese: Add the frozen tater tots and shredded cheddar cheese on top of the beef mixture. Use a spatula to gently mix everything together until well coated and evenly distributed.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the edges are bubbling and the tater tots are crispy and golden.
- Serve Hot: Remove from oven and serve immediately while piping hot to enjoy the best flavors and textures.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the casserole by adding cooked green beans, mushrooms, diced peppers, diced onions, or jalapenos to enhance the flavor and texture.
- Make sure to drain excess grease from the cooked beef to keep the dish flavorful but not greasy.
- Keep the tater tots frozen until mixing to ensure crispy topping after baking.
