Instructions
- Gather Ingredients: Collect all your antipasto items including meats, cheeses, pickled vegetables, fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Wash and dry any fresh produce and herbs as needed.
- Prep Ingredients: Slice or cube any cheeses and chop any vegetables that need prep so they are bite-sized for skewering. Ensure olives, pickles, and other small items are ready to be pierced.
- Assemble Skewers: Using large toothpicks, skewer a combination of meats, cheeses, vegetables, or fruits to create appetizing mini combos. Be creative in mixing colors and textures for visual appeal.
- Arrange in Wreath Shape: On a large round platter or serving board, arrange the toothpick skewers in a circular wreath pattern. Make sure the wreath is densely filled and visually balanced.
- Add Herbs and Garnish: Tuck fresh rosemary sprigs evenly around the wreath for a fragrant and festive touch. Sprinkle microgreens over the wreath for added color and texture.
- Chill: Transfer the completed charcuterie wreath to the refrigerator until you are ready to serve. This helps keep all ingredients fresh and flavors melded.
Notes
- For my wreath I used: Salami, Mozzarella, Fontina, Dill Havarti, Green Olives, Black Olives, Marinated Artichokes, Roasted Red Peppers, Mini Pickles, Cherry Tomatoes, Rosemary Sprigs, and Micro Greens.
- I recommend sticking with white cheeses and using green and red ingredients to keep a visually appealing color palette of white, green, and red for the prettiest antipasto wreath.
- The recipe is very flexible; you can swap meats, cheeses, or garnishes based on preference or availability.
- This wreath can be prepared a few hours in advance and kept refrigerated, but best served the same day for optimal freshness.
