Description

This hearty and flavorful cabbage soup is loaded with tender cabbage, ground beef, and vegetables, making it the perfect warm and comforting meal. Quick and easy to prepare, it’s a satisfying dish for any time of year.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 large cabbage, chopped
  • 2 small onions, diced
  • 2 cans of stewed tomatoes
  • 1 pouch Lipton Onion Soup Mix (any flavor)
  • 1 large celery stalk, chopped very small
  • 12 pounds ground beef
  • Optional: Additional spices (salt, pepper, garlic powder, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Vegetables: Fill a large saucepan halfway with water and bring to a boil. Add the chopped cabbage, onions, celery, and stewed tomatoes to the pot. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until the vegetables are tender.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: In a separate skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Once fully cooked, drain any excess fat.
  3. Add Seasoning and Soup Mix: Stir the Lipton Onion Soup Mix into the pot with the vegetables. Add any spices of your choice, such as salt, pepper, or garlic powder.
  4. Combine with Meat: Add the cooked ground beef to the pot with the vegetables. Simmer the soup for a few more minutes to let the flavors meld together. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Serve: Ladle the soup into bowls and serve hot. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Customization: Feel free to add other vegetables like carrots, bell peppers, or zucchini for extra flavor.
  • Meat Options: You can substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or sausage for a different flavor profile.
  • Leftovers: This soup stores well in the fridge for up to 3 days and can also be frozen for later meals.
