Description

These Apple Pie Biscuits are a delightful combination of fluffy buttermilk biscuits and sweet, spiced apple pie filling. Topped with a cinnamon sugar coating and a drizzle of icing, they make for a perfect breakfast treat or dessert.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 can of buttermilk biscuits
  • 1 can apple pie filling
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Icing:

  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking pan or skillet with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Mix: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Coat Biscuits: Dip each biscuit in the melted butter, then coat it with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Arrange the coated biscuits in the prepared pan.
  4. Prepare Apple Filling: Chop the apple pie filling into smaller pieces. Mix the chopped apples with the vanilla extract and spoon the mixture evenly over the arranged biscuits.
  5. Add Remaining Toppings: Drizzle any remaining butter over the top of the biscuits and sprinkle with any leftover cinnamon sugar mixture.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Prepare Icing: While the biscuits are baking, whisk together the confectioners’ sugar and milk to make the icing.
  8. Finish and Serve: Once the biscuits are done baking, drizzle the icing over the top while they are still warm. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of chopped nuts or raisins to the apple pie filling.
  • These biscuits are best served warm but can be reheated in the oven or microwave.
